A Morning Prayer
According to the Anglican Catholic Tradition
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, who of Thy great mercy hast preserved me through the perils of the night and brought me in safety to the beginning of this day; Accept, I beseech Thee, my humble and hearty thanks for all Thy goodness and loving-kindness toward me.
Grant that this day I fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but that all my doings, being ordered by Thy governance, may be righteous in Thy sight. Fill me with the grace of Thy Holy Spirit, that I may walk worthy of the vocation wherewith I am called, serving Thee faithfully in holiness and righteousness all the days of my life.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Forgive whatsoever hath been amiss in me, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness through the precious Blood of Thy dearly beloved Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Strengthen me to resist the world, the flesh, and the devil. Keep me steadfast in the Apostolic Faith, faithful in prayer, diligent in Thy Holy Word, reverent in Thy Holy Sacraments, and obedient to Thy holy will.
Bless, O Lord, Thy One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Grant unto all Bishops, Priests, and Deacons grace faithfully to preach Thy Word and rightly to administer Thy Holy Sacraments. Give wisdom to those set in authority, peace among the nations, comfort to the sorrowful, healing to the sick, relief to the poor, and rest unto the faithful departed.
I humbly commend unto Thy fatherly care my family, my children, and my children’s children. Preserve them in the true Faith of our Lord Jesus Christ; defend them from all evil; guide them by Thy Holy Spirit in the paths of righteousness; and grant that, loving and serving Thee faithfully, they may continue in Thy covenant and finally be received into Thy heavenly kingdom.
Prosper, I pray Thee, the work of my hands this day, if it be according to Thy blessed will. Grant that my thoughts may be pure, my words gracious, and my deeds pleasing in Thy sight, that in all things I may glorify Thy Holy Name.
And when this day’s labour is ended, grant me to return thanks unto Thee with a quiet conscience; and when my earthly pilgrimage shall be accomplished, receive me into Thy everlasting kingdom, there with Saints, Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of Heaven, to laud and magnify Thy glorious Name; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our only Lord and Saviour; who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. AMEN
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost; Amen.
